1. What connects you as a team?
Part of the Team knows each other from the childhood days in kindergarten:
With Videogames we grew a big passion for IT & Tech which lead us to our careers in this industry and in the end in our startup. In this picture in the middle is Dennis one of our Full Stack Developers and on the right hand side is me (Viktor). The rest of our Team also has a deep connection, we’re all from our hometown Soest. Our other Developer was also a passioned gamer and we met playing online games.
Our 3D Designer we met in a Blablacar ride from Berlin: he’s also from Soest and was wondering why someone was going directly to Soest, which is not typically on the way from Berlin. 😃 Now we already worked on a lot of different projects together: from a booking platform for DJs (failed) to big city Projects and AR-Apps (successful). 😊
2. Why are you participating in the Hackathon?
Because this is exactly the topic (AR and tourism) we focus on in our startup. We see 5G and AR as a big step in the evolution in tech and would love to be part of that. With our ideas and projects we already worked and still working on, this hackathon is a perfect match for us!
3. It's snacktime: What gives you the necessary energy?
Green Tea and Fruits – we try to be healthy. 😊
But on Fridays we have an official beer day 😃 where we drink beer from our local brewery:
4. What is your preferred work place?
Our preferred workplace is our coworking space in Soest, what we manage together with a partner. Its and old “Fachwerkhaus” what we modernized and made it a great place to work. This actually is what we love: to combine old an historic buildings with modern tech, this is why we use AR to tell the story of the past. 😊
5. What are your highlights in Düsseldorf?
The Altstadt and the „längste Theke der Welt“. 😊
We partner with Vodafone and are part of their 5G Lab in Düsseldorf and also the digihub is one of our partners at the Digitales Zentrum Mittelstand. We we’re part of an Open Data Hackathon with the City of Düsseldorf and we’re invited to pitch at Ministerium für Inneres und Kommunales des Landes NRW.
Also we had Minister Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart in Soest last month, where he tried one of our AR-Apps we developed as part of “Digitale Modellkommune Soest”. Here you can see a video of that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKnpFLWbdQw
6. How do you collaborate in the days of Corona?
We used Microsoft Teams already before so it was not a big deal for us switching into the homeoffice – but now we’re happy to be in the office again. 😊
Also we’ve rebuild our “Stadtlabor” in Soest in 3D because it was closed during the lockdown: https://stadtlabor-soest.de/es-gibt-was-zu-feiern/
It’s a virtual meeting place where you can walk around and talk to people.
7. How do you collaborate across borders?
We have costumers across the world and we’re using zoom to stay in touch. 😊
